Residential
Landscape Design
So
you have a folder filled with dozens of photos and pages
torn out of inspiring magazines . . . gardening books being
devoured by sticky notes . . . but how do you make it all happen? It
all starts with a good solid design that combines
your
garden style
with
the
functionality
of your
lifestyle.
- Do
you need a
play area for you children or pets?
- Is
a pool or spa in your future?
- Do
you entertain often?
- What's
on your wish list of "must haves?"
- Do
you like your neighbor but enjoy your privacy?
These
are the common things to consider, but often there are existing
site conditions that need to be addressed before proceeding with
your plans. Stormwater and soil erosion, as well as existing vegetation
and wind and light patterns, can determine how your landscaping
is designed. THE
DESIGN PROCESS
Based
on the needs of the client, we generally find that our design
services fall into one of these categories.
- Consultation: Some
of our clients have very green thumbs and specific ideas about
their landscape but just may need an on-site consultation
to ensure that they’re on the right track
- Specific
Garden Element Design: For example: water features, entrance
or foundation plantings, buffers and privacy screens,
patios & walkways and lighting
- Master
Planning: The master plan looks at the “big
picture” and
overall needs and intended functions of the client's
property. This is a multi-phased approach which allows
the client
to implement the various stages of project as time and
budget
allow
The level of detail rendered in the landscape design drawings
varies from project to project but will always include a Base
Plan of the existing conditions from which the designer and client have
to work.
Generally
the next step is the Concept
Plan that is an overlay
of the new design elements and gives the basic flavor and
direction of the design. From
there, the Final Plan is developed which designates all aspects
of the design in detail so that it can be installed exactly how
you envisioned.
GETTING IT

you do not already have your own contractor and are not planning
